Alchemy,
the Trickster,
and the AI Revolution

with author Thom F. Cavalli, Ph.D.

Sundays beginning February 21, 2027

3 Sessions

10 am - 12 pm Pacific / 1-3 pm Eastern
All sessions will be video recorded for registered guests.

Alchemy is about making things–everything from concocting a medicine to perfecting an ideal personality all falls within the purview of alchemical psychology.

Alchemical work is transformative, but it cannot succeed without a spirit. The alchemical trickster in the form of Mercurius is the spiritual catalyst that makes it all possible.

Who would have expected such a wily character, an agent of chaos, to be so vital to the work? The trickster steals fire, crosses boundaries, but he also turns raw chaos into usable material. He is still very much with us, appearing in many different disguises, including the AI revolution.

  • How often do you fall victim to the Fool, or tap into his creative spirit?

  • Is Trickster your friend or foe?

  • How does an alchemist use AI for individuation, dream work, and dealing with the Shadow? What is AI2?

Alchemy is more popular than ever, and for good reason: without it, we have no compass for navigating the future of personal and global change.

Don't be fooled by New Age magic, know the tricks of the trade - join us for another deep-dive into alchemy!

Course outline

Seminar 1 — Homo Faber and Meaning-Making

Central question:  Is AI the latest chapter in the human story of making, or a rupture from it?

Session 2 — From the Alchemist's Recipes to the Algorithms

Central question: If alchemy is humanity's long apprenticeship in transformation, is AI its graduation — or its betrayal?

Seminar 3 — The Alchemist's Warning: De-Mystifying Life

Central question: The alchemists left warnings as carefully as they left formulas. What did they know about the dangers of their own art that we are at risk of forgetting?

How does an alchemist use AI for individuation, dream work, and dealing with the Shadow?

  • Does AI have a soul?

  • Is AI a simulation of God?

  • Are you fooling yourself by relying on AI?

  • Is there a ‘ghost’ in the AI machine?

  • Is Trickster Mercurius friend or foe?

  • Are you the master or the victim of AI?
