JANUARY - APRIL 2027

Jungian Men’s Group

Facilitated by

David BAKER, Ph.D.
& Ryan GEORGE, M.A.

Ryan George M.A., MFT, SEP

Ryan George is a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Somatic Therapist, based in Santa Barbara, California.

From a childhood spent rambling through the majestic redwood forests of northern California, Ryan has been enchanted by the natural world, and drawn to explore the wild and soulful places within each of us. A dark night of the soul led him to an encounter with Carl Jung’s mysterious and evocative work, which planted a seed, and led to a bachelor’s degree in psychology from U.C. Berkeley.

Later, after journeys to far-flung locales, and working for years as a journalist, he obtained a master’s degree in Society and Politics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He returned to a rich, in-depth study of Jung and depth psychology, and obtained a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara. He currently provides psychotherapy and nature-based therapy for clients, that is centered on restoring vitality, soul retrieval and post-traumatic growth.

We invite you to join us for a small-group online Jungian’s men group this winter. Our aim is to create an open and supportive atmosphere for exploring relationships, responsibilities, work/life balance, purpose, soul and one’s mission in the world and more. What are we called to do and accomplish in this world, what holds us back, and where can we find vitality, purpose and honor at this time?

With a present-centered focus, we will engage with a variety of themes, including Carl Jung’s ideas around the Shadow, the unconscious, creativity, dreams, art, literature, and myth.

This experience is designed to invite a time of commitment to inner work and healing and will be facilitated by two experienced therapists and group leaders. It is a space for men to address and receive support for life issues and growth.

We will meet biweekly for 90-minutes over Zoom, for eight sessions in total and the group is limited to ten participants.

With new community, there will be an opportunity to continue meeting in the future, as well as the possibility of in-person retreats.
